Howdy, folks. Apologies for this dispatch coming so late in the day. Per tradition, this post is dedicated to you, the readers, showcasing what you made on Thanksgiving. As such, I needed the accompanying imagery — and some of you were a little late to the game.
But, I take full responsibility for the tardiness. Instead of waiting up til nigh on midnight last night for pictures, I went to sleep well before the owls started hooting. Blame it on the turkey, I guess1.
I hope you all had lovely Thanksgiving, filled with good food, loving family, and close friends. Not much more from me this week — see you back here next week with our regularly scheduled programming.

Bonus: Thanksgiving Memories from Grammy CWD:
My happiest memories of Thanksgiving were the years that all my grandchildren and their parents spent the holiday at my home with me and PopPop.
The joy I felt was immeasurable.
The basement playroom, which became a bedroom at night, was filled with laughter, screams and the happy excited voices of my 5 grandchildren.
Those days will live in my heart forever.
May you enjoy all the wonderful memories you will be building with your family.
With all my love! Forever and Always!

The memories made in the basement of Burkey Drive will last forever!
Bonus Recipe: Turkey “Bacon”
Kiddo CWD, shockingly, refused to eat any turkey at dinner last night. However, this morning, she ate about a pound of it when I called it “bacon.” Here’s how to make it — it’s a wonderful use of breast meat, which already is getting dry. Mrs. CWD and I enjoyed ours on top of a sweet potato biscuit, fried duck eggs, cheese, and leftover mushroom gravy.
Thinly slice some turkey breast into “bacon” sized pieces. Fry in a pan with bacon grease2 until well browned and crispy. Serve however you would serve standard bacon.
Though, really, 9:00pm is a pretty standard bedtime for adults on the ranch.
If you don’t save you bacon grease, you could use butter or even olive oil here as well.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Love this one, CWD! Hope you and Mrs. CWD had a great Thanksgiving! 🦃❤️🍁
