I was with PopPop once when he was doing physical therapy to recover from a medical issue, and the therapist kept saying "Motion is Lotion, Motion is Lotion." At the time, I thought it strange, but oh how true it is! Even my sprained wrist (from crumbling up the dogs' lamb nuggets!) was healed immediately after I went swimming. And my twisted ankle got better the day I started walking on it. Not attempting to advocate tempting "medical" fate, but so true that it's much easier to move when you keep moving!
Love this issue! Can you explain your thoughts behind raw dairy? I see a lot of people consuming raw dairy products rather than pasteurized and I’m curious!
Thanks, Dahlia! I’ll first caveat that this is in no way medical advice and I think it’s a lot easier for many people to get pasteurized milk than raw milk of the high quality I think you need for it to be worth it. But from what I understand, raw dairy, when sourced from healthy cows and properly bottled is totally safe. It has more strains of probiotic bacteria and can be more nutrient dense (since the heat of pasteurization kills everything and degrades the vitamins and minerals).
That being said -- we still drink WAY more pasteurized dairy than raw dairy (though I do try to buy cheese made with raw milk as often as possible -- since it’s typically better cheese like parmigiano reggiano, pecorino romano, or other traditional European cheeses). I think what’s most important is to get milk as far up the “supply chain” as possible -- from smaller farms that treat their cows well. I think the milk is just better.
Mrs. CWD, on the other hand, thinks raw milk tastes like grass and doesn’t touch the stuff!
At the end of the day, it’s about getting closer to your food sources and knowing where things come from. Much better in my mind to know the dairy farm and cows — eyes wide open!
quality wine and coffee : )
Numbers 11 and 12!
That's quite generous.

Oh, and...I love you, Socrates.
Couldn’t agree more with that saying! And given your dedication to motion, I expect you to leave at least to 102!

Thank you for the explanation! I’ve never tried raw milk but now I’m nervous! 😂😂
Let me know what you think if you try it!
