The Family CWD has been on vacation for the last week. After a brief stopover back on the home front after Katadhin, we packed it up, and on Saturday headed north to Portland. The next morning we bombed up further to Bar Harbor, where we took the ferry across the Gulf of Maine, into Nova Scotia. After half-a-week there, we’re now back in Maine, exploring Acadia National Park.

Because we took this trip with two kids — and, because I didn’t bother to bring a computer — I’m forced to admit that this week’s dispatch will again consist mainly1 of photos. In Nova Scotia we ate out for all our meals — mostly lobster poutine, creamed lobster over haddock, and scallops of all preparation — and it’s looking like we’ll do the same here in Maine.

So to those who come here for my lofty and enlightening prose or my hard-to-follow recipes, I apologize — I’m leaving you instead with the promise that next week, you’ll get something of substance.

Enjoy your weekends, eat some lobster, and make the most of August.
Maine-ly… get it!?
Please, please, please drop us a lobster poutine recipe.
Looks like a fantastic trip and a while of a tale. Plenty of substance. Waiting on that poutine recipe
