I hope you don’t have “hammer finger” for the rest of your life like Grammy. She injured her pinky finger trying to separate you and Brother CWD while you were “playing” about 28 years ago. She thought you were fighting—which I think you were.
Love you and think you are gorgeous—even with Hammer Finger, if that be the case. You’ll get used to it.
Wallace Stevens was an executive at a Hartford CT insurance company all his adult life. In his own time, he composed some of the most sublime poetry I have ever read. Many people have a career and also a "calling" that lights them up. For some, that calling is "writer". Welcome to the club, Lou!
Ha! That happened to me in jiu jitus once, too! My pinky formed a sideways 90 degree angle. I looked in horror for about .3 seconds before grabbing it and snapping it back in place. It still locks itself straight from time to time.
You're absolutely right, though. Maybe it is all play. Maybe it should all be play!
Love that -- maybe it all should! That lines up with one of my favorite lines from Mushashi's "Book of Five Rings:" "Think lightly of yourself and deeply of the world."

If you’re going to get injured, can’t think of a better way than during play (heal up soon brother 👊🏻)
Thanks, Kyle -- agreed!

Just waiting for my members jacket!

That's a good one and fits perfectly! Another favorite Musashi quote is "know the way broadly and you will see it in all things."
