Don’t sell yourself short Lou. Your description of this pond is very evocative! I took a little kayak out on a local lake a couple of times last summer and this brought the experience back vividly!

Thank you, Erik! Amazing how much different the perspective can be from the water. A small shift, but significant!

I found “Pilgrim” at Dove and Hudson bookstore in Albany, NY while in college, during a solo rebellion against the literary canon, and was equally terrified by the sentences. Hardcover. Beige.

Your writing has become Food for Thought.

Pennies are magical. What a beautiful concept that simple pennies are everywhere.

I love you.

My reading group read "Pilgrim at Tinker Creek" a couple of months ago - the writing took their breath away. I look for muskrats more often at our pond now ...

The pennies, to collect as memories and experiences.

A habit inherited from my father and encouraged by my grandfather, I've been finding and collecting wheat pennies for years. Finding one brings a mysterious joy that springs from somewhere deep. Most recent, a 1928 (!!) sitting right outside Fenway. The quote you shared resonated deeply as well, thanks Lou.
