The first child is a profound change. The second, you’re twice as busy. The third simply fits into life. Enjoy the continued hustle and flow. You’re right where you need to be — present.

I LOVE The Art of Racing in the rain. I love a good grain bowl. And proving that two gives birth to three, I also love this week's newsletter. Wishing you a smooth birth and an even smoother transition to family of five status.

I enjoyed this Lou- a nice rhythm. "There’s nothing new, only a constant relearning and rediscovery."

I really enjoyed the writing, Lou. Wishing you, the wife and kids an easy and meaningful transition to baby #3. Having a third baby myself in 2024, I can say it was disruptive in the best ways – well, except I now have to be an early morning workout guy if I want to get a lift in. But it's worth it. To many happy days ahead!

Recipe sounds delicious and comforting! It’s very cold in Florida right now—you laugh— but definitely tolerable but probably spring weather to you!

William Osler (physician, born in 1849!) and founding father of John’s Hopkins Hospital had a great quote: We are here to add what we can to life, not to get what we can from life.

Look at what you are adding, and how many more great little people you are adding to this world! Thinking of you and Mrs. CWD with Love, always!

"gradually and then suddenly" - what a good way of describing so much

"used to call these hot salads" - excuse me sir, we are very much still in our hot boy hot salad era. in fact I think i'll enjoy some wonderfully wilted greens for lunch today

"How did you get to 2200 words in your newsletter this week?"

"Gradually, and then suddenly (in the footnotes)"

-- Sam and Lou, probably.
