I’m going to cut straight to the chase on this one. I love pulled pork. You can eat it straight up, on a sandwich, with rice, with mashed potatoes, on a taco, in a soup, with eggs, at breakfast, at lunch, or at dinner. It’s simple enough for a weekday, but delicious enough to serve at a party. You can’t go wrong with pulled pork. Here’s how to make it:
Liberally season a pork shoulder (preferred) or butt with salt and pepper and brown sugar. Or use a rub you like. Let the pork sit, covered in your seasoning for at least 30 minutes, but ideally up to 24 hours. Heat your oven to around 300(F), put your pork in a cast iron pan (or dutch oven) and let is cook for somewhere in the range of 6 hours (until you can tear it apart with a fork). Alternatively, put it in a slow cooker from when you leave the house in the morning until you get home to eat dinner.
That’s it. That’s the recipe. Enjoy the weather this weekend and eat something tasty.
